| Abstract | Unpublished reports of positive effects on Multiple Sclerosis by treatment with tea made from the medicinal herb Ruta initiated experiments on the effects of an infusion of Ruta graveolens on the ionic currents in intact myelinated nerve fibres. It became evident that potassium currents were almost completely blocked while sodium currents were only slightly reduced. Following a working hypothesis published elsewhere these results could be in fact the experimental basis for positive effects of Ruta on Multiple Sclerosis. | |
