| Abstract | Patients
with severe atopic eczema were divided into two groups, one group undergoing
sports activities, the other as untreated control group. All patients were
tested with regard to particular neurovascular skin reactivity including
examinations of thermoregulation, dermographism, and cutaneous microcirculation
before and after defined stimuli. Those patients, who underwent sports therapy showed almost normalized thermoregulatory response to warmth as well as improved hyperaemia to local heating, whereas the controlgroup failed to do so. The findings lend support to the hypothesis that the origin and severity of Neurodermatitis is influenced by intrinsic dysregulations of the cutaneous neurovascular system which can be improved by regular physical exercise. |
